THE SILO FARM STORE
After our first season (2018) opening our farm for U Pick Flowers, I began dreaming of a Farm Store. A place that you could pop by and grab a pre-cut bouquet, a snack and cold or hot beverage (depending on the weather) while you were wandering the gardens and offer other local growers, makers and artists wares as well as some of our antique collection.
All of the infrastructure around the farm has been thoughtfully constructed with materials and elements reused or repurposed whenever possible. Tyrell came up with the idea of using an old grain bin or silo. My father-in-law had a few unused bins on his property up the road and graciously offered one.
Fun Fact - The Silo was originally built by Tyrell’s Grandpa in the 60s and has been relocated a few times along Range Road 23.
Finally in the fall of 2019, we moved The Silo to its permanent position on the farm and rebuilt the floor. In the spring we added a window and door, vinyl plank flooring and began loading the store with our antiques and locally made goods. This fall we added a cooler that will be stocked with beverages and snacks for our guests next year.
We had our soft opening late this summer and the traffic and feedback has been beyond my expectations.
To ensure the health and safety of ourselves and guests, we have made the difficult decision to close The Silo until the Spring.
Supporting local has never been more important. Please consider supporting your local businesses, artists and makers whenever you can.
